ShoppingSometimes, we buy because we need something, either
a necessity for ourselves or possibly because the product
finally ended its life. Yet, sometimes, we buy because
we want something, either for our own enjoyment or
possibly for a loved one. But the thing is, we buy
because it is a must. Our society has mold us to do
necessary actions when we lack something; we tend to
buy things which are in excess of what is expected. We
are definitely not force to buy, but our instinct say and the
shops do seduce us to at least try their products. If the
product works, it is good news, the shop needs further
experimentation to benefit everybody; if not, the shop is
over, they may close forever.
I am a certified shopaholic; I shop a lot. The mall is not
questioned when I go out. I just do not care about it, I
can go to different malls, what I considered as MALL,
and buy what I want. I usually buy shirts, accessories,
food and things that are uncommon. It is a healing
process for me to shop, it is like a therapy because when
I am at the mall, I always forget all my assignments, my
tests, my projects; I almost always forget everything.
Going to malls, my only purpose is to enjoy and have fun;
I always forget my problems and considered shopping as
a positive reinforcement for my own benefit.
I am also another person when shopping in the mall; I
am more positive and encouraging than the usual. It is
my way of coping because I can not always buy everything
that I wanted and becoming positive and encouraging help
me to accept the fact and think of a better alternative.
Maybe the product does not suits me, or it cost really
expensive or for practical reasons such like having the
same color again and again. My collection of shirts, polo,
collared shirts is more than 100, and still adding. I only
wear one particular shirt per term; I never used the same
shirt at a time in a single term because what is the point of
having more than 100, if you are not maximizing them.
I am also particular with my appearance; I must not wear
the same thing for 2 consecutive days. I like changes
because I am easily bored with same stuff. The appearance
for Monday must be totally different from my appearance
for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays, and of course Friday
from head to toe. I consider myself a FashionistO in some
ways and I believe that it is very helpful to be comfortable
with your clothing, with your physical appearance and with
that to be more comfortable in expressing yourself. Before,
I was not like this, I did not care at all. I used to be fat; be
teased as fat. I was normal as I thought but my surrounding
says the opposite and that trigger me to be different and
follow the industrialized culture that everybody is exercising.
Industrialization does affect each and every one of us. It is a
truly Westernized tradition but we sure have the guts to
adapt it and try to surpass it by globalization. We consume
products that the production is increase so as to equalize, or
possibly gain more capitals for the investors. If the
consumers buying increases, the production of products also
increases thus because of the industrialized way of producing
certain product, with limited time yet massive outcomes, the
investors sure have all the benefits and control over their
products. Industrialization is seen not only in shopping
malls but in our everyday interaction with life. We grow
as we faced the trials we have that sometimes we change
our own image to form a more competitive and ready for
everything attitude. We felt the urged to go to shopping
malls because it is very efficient and cost-effective. But
the problem with industrialization is that it is mostly
evident with the upper social classes compare with the
lower classes. Neither wants to have interaction with
the other class that makes it really difficult to unite the
classes thus force the differentiation of it.

Life is not measured by the breaths we take;
But by what takes our breath away.
